Photographer Laura de Mildt (1983) has been capturing her stories since 2014. While attending her studies at the Academy of Arts in Utrecht and the Academy of Photography in Amsterdam, she was always in the search for new ways to grow in her photography. While she prefers to make use of natural light to give her stories a more honest feel, she also appreciates experimenting with the effects that the lighting of a studio can offer. Laura is strong and meticulous when directing in order to attain the ultimate result she is picturing in her mind. Her method often leads to unexpected surprises that make for powerful and unique portraits or editorials. Besides the Netherlands, she also finds great inspiration by working in cities like New York, LA, Milan, Sydney, and Melbourne. Laura: “In my work, I combine portrait, documentary and fashion photography.
